Miriam Boland

Pharmacist & PhD candidate, Trinity College Dublin

Miriam is a qualified pharmacist and is currently undertaking a PhD in the School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences, Trinity College Dublin under the supervision of Dr Cathal Cadogan and Professor Agnes Higgins. Miriam's PhD will focus on understanding and supporting the withdrawal process from psychiatric medicines for people experiencing mental health problems.


Cathal Cadogan

Associate Professor in Pharmacy Practice, Trinity College Dublin

Cathal  is an Associate Professor in Pharmacy Practice at the School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences, Trinity College Dublin. Cathal's main research interest focuses on developing supports to help people make informed decisions about starting and stopping psychiatric medicines. Cathal sits on the Board of Directors of the Alliance for Benzodiazepine Best Practices and is an associate member of the International Institute for Psychiatric Drug Withdrawal.

 
Agnes Higgins

Professor in Mental Health, Trinity College Dublin

Agnes works as a Professor in Mental Health at the School of Nursing and Midwifery, Trinity College Dublin. The central theme underpinning her research is on increasing understanding of service users’ and family members’ experience of mental health service provision and the development of strategies that promote recovery and social inclusion. Agnes is Fellow of Trinity College and a Fellow (Ad Eundem) of the Faculty of Nursing and Midwifery in the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland and has been a chairperson or member of numerous policy, research, and advocacy committees/groups in mental health.
